People say they are having fun ...

There are a lot of people in today's society that say "I'm sure having fun". But if you ask them about what kind of person they are they say "I'm generally a very sad person.", interesting!  A quote from Discover the Word Ministry

Real Joy Gal. 5:22,23. From the fathers heart

Fretful Freedom Fighter,

Shall I tell you about real joy?  Joy begins by knowing Me and then it's multiplied by taking an interest in people ~ not things, conditions or acquisitions.  And happiness never just happens.  No, happiness is a result ~ a by product.  One feels it by receiving My love and joy, and then giving them away.  Happiness is a choice.  A man or women must decide to be happy ~ now.  Had it ever come to your mind that most unhappiness stems from ingratitude and failure to take pleasure in the gifts one already has?

Child, when will you learn to joy in the midst of all  circumstances?  If they be hard, delightful, or perhaps just suddenly difficult ~ lay hold of contentment and take joy as My gift!  It is My gift, for contentment comes not by external conditions ~ it is the fruit of exercising confidence in Me.

Again, happiness is a choice!  So, in a very important sense, to choose happiness is to choose heaven.  Will you choose it now?  Be happy!  Find reasons to rejoice and make opportunities to relieve the suffering of others.  Learn to be content in every circumstance - including this present one. Decide and begin now to practice continual praise! Your joy will overflow, I promise.

By the way you are obviously right about one thing ... I have not answered some of your prayers, for I have deliberately ignored you're pleased that I shorten your earthly days and immediately transform you to heaven. And you should be grateful that I have. Honestly, child. You have no idea what you were asking. I mean, in your recent frame of mind your presence here would hardly have proven a blessing to you - or to any of the rest of us, for that matter!

As I have promised, you will see the King reigning in the glory!  You will recognize the true reign of Christ and His Church when His chosen ones no longer strive and quibble about words, but walk in the power of Kingdom love.  When the world can look to a member of Our household as a mighty rock providing cool shade and protection, or as a stream springing forth in a parched desert, the reign of My Son will then be self evident obviously obvious and undeniably undeniable.

Now do you see why I have been allowing you these opportunities to show patience and forgiveness? I have been answering your prayers. Do you not remember? I do. You have repeatedly prayed for love, unity and cooperation among the members of Our House, and, naturally, I have begun the work in you. As you are discovering, no one is more dedicated to the principle of "first things first" then I...

Be of good cheer, for despite your doubts, you are progressing better than you think. And be comforted in the knowledge that your brothers and sisters are undergoing the very same training throughout the world. As I have told you, the Church and the world are on the brink of an unprecedented wave of My glory and power. At present, I AM making you ready as My chosen redeemer, along with many others. In the meantime, will you be patient with yourself? With them? And with me? I am!

Prayer for self healing

While writing my curriculum I came across a prayer that I thought was helpful for all when we are struggling with how to forgive ourselves and others and how to heal.  Of course to dig deeper you can write some ideas about ... "what is the hardest part of forgiveness for me (of myself, of others)".

Dear Lord,

  Please help me, To accept others as the are; To understand shortcomings and make allowances for them; To work patiently for improvements in myself; To appreciate what people do right, not criticize what they do wrong; To be slow to anger, slow to speak, and quick to listen; To rise above the hard falls I have had; To live with my broken dreams; and To dare to dream again!  AMEN

May God heal you of your broken heart from broken dreams and help you set your eyes on new dreams and a bright and prosperous future!

from the Father's heart: self management II Timothy 1:7

Struggling Deliver,

Next time, begin the day with authority. I gave you not a spirit of fear, but a spirit of love, power and of self-management. Begin to act like it! Decide to keep a sense of humor. Laugh at all mistakes, interruptions and obstacles, and stop worrying about your ignorance.

Has it not occur to you that I am in charge of your ignorance as well as your knowledge? Think! Has your mouth not uttered deeper wisdom than you dreamed possible when you have simply "been yourself,"  while oblivious  to the tensions --- the issues around you? A man ignorant of all the rules can be a miracle-worker, and the knowledge of too many problems can create a prison. Remember, all knowledge is Mine and all ignorance is Mine.  And you are Mine. Live in joy of that fact.

Flat tires

I am working on presentation material and was reminded of "flat tires" those things that keep you from moving on down the road in a positive direction.  Over the years I have learn to let go of past experiences and people that contribute negatively to my life.  I can love them and pray for them without having them impact my life.  Every once in a while I still catch myself revisiting that pattern. 

I recently became aware I was doing this when my insides screamed, "why are you wanting to go back there and connect with the people that make you feel this way?".  Until that point I was looking forward to connecting with an old acquaintance and catching up. In the past I would have ignored that feeling and considered myself lacking friendship skills;  if I connected with them I would strengthen those weak skills.  Instead of ignoring the "calling of my heart" I listened and pondered.  I don't want to be the kind of person that throws people by the wayside because my tolerance is narrow.  I want to be open, a good, and a loyal friend.  I don't want to be the person that is ALWAYS driving on a "flat tire"and not getting very far either.  I do not want to waste precious time and energy chasing an image of a relationship that "could be" and ignoring the "reality of the relationship".  That is another "flat tire" experience people often have.  They see what they want instead of seeing what is really there.

My pondering brought me to an expression, "Watching your growth OR LACK OF IT, confirms the direction I should pursue, OR NOT PURSUE depending on the outcome of our journey together."  Hopefully that will provide me with a better measuring stick for knowing what relationships to place my time and energy in pursuing and which ones are just parting paths with hearty "wishing you well".  Sincerely!     

Father's day

Today I have been reminded of all the Father's Day celebrations for this weekend.  I am also reminded that not ALL people have peace surrounding Father's Day.  I hope you will be aware of the children, no matter what age, who had no father to fill that much needed role for their life..  I want to send love to those who didn't have a dependable physical father to hold on to.  I hope they know that their absent father is not a reflection of their value.  God the father will sit in the place of the missing father if you allow.  

I want to remember all the fathers who did not have the opportunity to show their children the kind of father they could be due to circumstances beyond their control.  I pray those children have peace.  I pray God show those children that their absent father is not their unloving father;  my wish is that God connects the hearts of these children and fathers through time and space when their lives are not able to be connected.

For those of you who grew up with bad fathers, I wish you peace.  I pray that God will provide a person that fills the fathers shoes giving you a nurturing role model that will help heal the wounds you have suffered at the hands of a less desirable role model. 

For those that lost their father to death.  I hope the wonderful memories carry you though this fathers day and you laugh more then you cry. 

For those who prepare to be fathers someday consider ... this is one of the biggest jobs you will ever have....prepare to do it well.  There will be no job more important than this one.                      

One of my favorite books...

One of my favorites books is From the Father's Heart by Charles Slagle. Though the stories are not written straight from the Bible it was nice for me to consider that God would speak to us like our parent speak to us. These might be the types of notes we receive from God. I would like to share some of these letters in the coming months. The first one is titled,

"On Your Side".

Child, If anyone wants you to succeed, I do. If anyone is on your side, I AM. There is no one more committed to your happiness than I, and no one even begins to love you like I do. And I want to clarify something. My love for you is more - far more - than a patronizing concern for your welfare. I like you. I enjoy you! I realize you find all this hard to believe but I want you to believe it. You'll have to sooner or later, so why not now? I think about you all the time, & I will stop at nothing to remind you of My presence. Haven't you noticed?

Assistive technology for people with learning challenges.

There are a lot of expensive assistive technologies that come from therapy offices in hospitals and clinics.  If you work with or know anyone that has challenges learning I would like to suggest they look into the "Smartpen".  Here's the website.  http://store.livescribe.com/

Things that I liked about the technology.  It's user friendly.  It doesn't take a degree to learn to use the thing.  It is up to date so it works with speech recognition, WiFi, Iphone, and Ipad.  It converts written word to text.  You can share the information.  It's inexpensive.

SO if you know someone that needs support with education consider looking into the Smartpen for them.  If you are a student or someone taking a lot of notes for meetings etc it would work for you.  If you or someone you know is at that age where memory is weak or someone who has a brain injury this is the BOMB!  I have used one for over 4 years and LOVE it!
